That caught your attention then! Been spending some time trying to get this right - it may not be perfect, but I thought I’d present it because it’s such a cool effect. Click any of the two icons above right and see what happens. If you don’t get an overlay window appearing, try closing your browser and re-opening the window and trying the icon again. Or wait until the browser has finished loading the page before clicking the icon to open the overlay window.
It’s called thickbox, by Cody Lindley, first introduced to me by good old Cyclosaurus - greetings friend! (Check out his thickbox slideshow here). Version 2.0 is illustrated on the jquery.com site. Version 2.1 was pulled recently although I’m using it on this site. It seems a bit temperamental, sometimes working flawlessly, other times repeatedly opening the wrong window (something to do with things being cached in Safari it seems). It’s been working with Firefox more reliably than Safari. Don’t even ask me about Internet Explorer! Interestingly version 2.1 seemed to work better than version 2.0 so I’ve kept it at version 2.1 currently. Any way, I await further developments.
UPDATE I’ve replaced all instances of thickbox with greybox. Thickbox seems to be even more unreliable with each version, and there is something awry with version 2.1 and its implementation with Firefox. Greybox on the other hand is efficient, fast and very reliable. It opens the right window for a start!

OK, thickbox doesn’t work for you at all - bypass all the fancy malarkey and go directly to Articles or Media pages.
